Ph.D.: Admission Procedures

To be accepted into the IMSE Department, prospective PhD applicants are judged on performance in their educational background, usually this means: an earned masters degree, GRE score, TOEFL score (for foreign students). We also put great emphasis on the applicant’s statement of purpose with research goals, and letters of recommendation. Applicants should include any research experiences to which they have been exposed. Students who have demonstrated research potential and outstanding performance in their undergraduate program may be considered for admittance directly into the PhD program.
