EIN 6386
Management of Technological Change (3)
EIN 5350
Technology & Finance (3)
EIN 6322

NOTE: The
Capstone course is offered only in the Fall term, and must be
taken in the graduating semester.
Quantitative Core Area (3 credit hours)
Note: An
undergraduate statistics course, or equivalent, is a
prerequisite. Otherwise, you must take ESI 5219 Statistical
Methods for Engineering Managers
(This
course will not count toward the 33 hours required for the
degree).
One
quantitative core course (3 credit hours) must be selected from
the following three courses:
ESI 5306
Operations Research for engineering managers (3)
ESI 6213
theory of industrial statistics (3)
ESI 6247
statistical design models (3)
Job
Design Core Area (3 credit hours)
One course
must be selected from the following:
EIN 6108
Engineering Management: Human Relations (3)
EIN 6319
Work Design & Productivity Engineering (3)
Approved
Electives (minimum of 15 credit hours)
NOTE: Only
one course is required in each of the quantitative and job
design core areas. The other courses may be taken as electives.
Students
pursuing advanced studies in the management area may choose
courses offered by other engineering departments as long as
these are relevant to the student’s program of study with the
prior approval of the Program Director.
Students
seeking enrichment of their knowledge in traditional engineering
fields may minor and select any electives of their choice as
long as these are supportive of the basic philosophy of the MSEM
program. In either case, prior approval of such courses is
required by the Program Director.
Transfer
of Credit
With the
Program Director’s approval, up to 12 credit hours (4 courses)
of non-degree seeking coursework taken at USF may be accepted
toward the MSEM degree. Such credits must be at least "B"
quality.
Students
admitted to the MSEM program who took graduate courses at other
institutions of higher learning may apply for transfer of up to
six semester hours. A written application for credit transfer
submitted to the Program Advisor during the first semester of
MSEM studies must include formal course descriptions as
published by the offering institution, class syllabi, and
official transcripts with grades "B" or better.
