Total Quality Management (TQM) Certificate

The University of South Florida’s Industrial and Management Systems Department offers a Certificate in Total Quality Management. A concentration of fifteen (15) semester hours in five (5) courses is required. These courses include Quality, Quality Management, Quality Assurance, and related course work presented by the department. Candidates interested in a Certificate in Total Quality Management must notify the department of their intent to pursue the certificate prior to exceeding nine (9) Student Credit Hours. Individuals seeking the certificates need not be accepted to a specific program at USF to earn the certificate. Persons wishing to apply these courses to any degree program should receive prior approval for course work from the department in which the degree is sought. Five graduate level courses may qualify as electives in the Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) degree offered by the Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department. Prospective students must meet all entrance requirements for the MSEM program before the course(s) will be transferred.

Graduate Certificate in Technology Management

The University of South Florida's Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department offers a Certificate in Technology Management for individuals with technical backgrounds who desire to move into management. The certificate program enhances students' ability to successfully manage in a highly competitive global environment. The required fifteen (15) semester hours in five (5) courses will strengthen students' engineering credentials while developing managerial competency. Courses are offered on the Tampa campus or online via FEEDS. Individuals seeking the certificate need not be accepted to a specific program at USF to earn the certificate. Students who wish to apply these courses toward a degree program should contact that department for information and prior approval.

Graduate Certificate in Regulatory Affairs

The University of South Florida’s Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department offers a certificate in Regulatory Affairs (Medical Device Concentration) for individuals with technical backgrounds from the medical device/pharmaceutical/ regulated industries or other engineering environments who will occupy professional regulatory affairs positions. This certificate will also be of value to individuals involved in the design, development and manufacturing of medical devices. This certificate program develops the requisite compliance skills by combining current regulatory approaches and quantitative techniques in a balanced curriculum. The required fifteen (15) semester hours in five (5) courses will assist in strengthening compliance credentials and developing professional competence. Courses are offered on the Tampa campus or on-line via Florida Engineering Education Delivery System (FEEDS). Additionally, graduate students in the Colleges of Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health and Arts & Sciences will also be served by these courses. Individuals seeking the certificate need not be accepted to a specific program at USF to earn the certificate. Students who wish to apply these courses toward a degree program should contact that department for information and prior approval.
